There are many different aspects when it comes to storytelling. Many of which are described in the recent readings. What I found most interesting was the topic of "Parallelism". I have seen many different uses of it, but never really thought too much of. Especially in that context. One example of this use would be in the animated film "Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox". In this film Barry Allen travels back in time, which as a result changes the course of the present. In this new reality, most major superheroes such as Wonder Woman and Aquaman are villains who are at war with each other. Superman is locked away and being experimented on by the government, while Bruce Wayne never becomes the Batman. This film portrays parallelism very well, by showing the huge contrast these heroes become compared to their counterparts. Other topics that I found important were cause and effect, and temporal order. Seeing how the ordering of events, and how it can change the final outcome can keeps things exciting. An example of this would be the sequence of events that take place in "The Hateful Eight". As a viewer, you don't realize that Channing Tatum and his crew took over the cabin, waiting to ambush Sam Jackson and the other characters, until close to the ending. This can drastically change the outcome and decisions made by the protagonist. Next is cause and effect which plays a key role, because it is the most basic necessity of any good story. Whatever the order of events, a cause and effect event is at the root of the situation. An example would be in Game of Thrones. Everything we are watching right now is an effect. The cause being Rhaegar Targaryen marrying Lyanna Stark in secret, while the rest of the world thought he kidnapped her. This sparked Robert's Rebellion, and the rest is history. Overall, this reading was an interesting one. It took many familiar concepts, and expanded on them providing helpful insight, while introducing new topics I was not familiar with.
